For many young people, their first experience with live theatre kindles a life-long love of theatre. Lyric First Curtain is designed to bring that first theatre experience to students who might not otherwise have access to the arts.
Lyric First Curtain's goal is to cultivate a life-long participation in the theatre, and to help students to view theatre-going as an important part of their world experience by offering complimentary multi-show subscriptions to a wide range of Lyric Stage Company productions. Student groups and teachers from participating schools will receive complimentary tickets to Lyric Stage Company productions for the 2012-2013 Season.
In addition to experiencing professional theatre performances, students will be invited to readings of new plays with regular Season Ticket Holders, may participate in discussions with Lyric Stage Company actors, directors, designers, and playwrights, and take backstage tours to get a behind-the-scenes experience of our theatre. When possible, Lyric First Curtain is able to arrange for in-class visits from Lyric Stage Company artists to supplement the curriculum guides, lesson plans for teachers, and special educational supplements.
If you are a teacher and you wish to have your class participate in Lyric First Curtain, please contact Sara Glidden, Managing Director at 617.585.5682 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please consider supporting Lyric First Curtain with a contribution. Your tax-deductible contribution will help make theatre available to a new generation of theatre-goers.
