Fred Sullivan Jr.°

Fred Sullivan, Jr. ° (Director) – was nominated for an Elliot Norton for his direction of Lyric Stage’s The Play That Goes Wrong last season. Also, at Lyric Stage, Fred played Tim in The Cake and Ben Jonson in The Book of Will. Fred has directed for Trinity Rep, The Gamm, Commonwealth Shakespeare Company, Ocean State Theatre Company, and Cape Rep. A thirty five-year member of the Trinity Rep acting company (128 productions), Fred has also enjoyed twenty-seven years with The Gamm (35 productions) and sixteen with Commonwealth Shakespeare. Fred has acted for the Dallas Theatre Co, New Jersey Shakespeare, Actors Theatre of Louisville and Berkeley Rep. He has an Eliott Norton Outstanding Actor Award for Jacques in As You Like It and Charles in Blithe Spirit and also an IRNE Award for Walter Burns in His Girl Friday. His production of Awake and Sing won an Outstanding Production Elliot Norton Award. Fred teaches his own Acting Lab in Providence and is a senior lecturer at RISD.
