The theatre is located on the second floor of the YW building on the corner of Clarendon & Stuart Streets.

From the Mass Pike

Take the Copley Square exit, go straight through the stop light, and take a right at the next light onto Clarendon Street.

From points North & South

Take Route 93 to Storrow Drive, take the Copley Square exit (left exit) to the first stoplight, take a right onto Beacon Street, and at the 2nd set of lights, take a left onto Clarendon Street.

From the MBTA (T) Green Line

Exit Copley Square Station, walk East on Boylston Street (past Copley Square fountain and Trinity Church on right) to Clarendon Street, turn right onto Clarendon Street, and walk two blocks.

From the MBTA (T) Orange & Commuter Lines

Exit Back Bay Station to Clarendon Street, turn left, and walk one block.

Please note that the Lyric Stage does not cancel performances due to inclement weather, except in the event of a State of Emergency. Audience Accessibility

WHEELCHAIR ACCESS

Our entire space, including our lobbies, restrooms, and theatre are fully accessible. An elevator is located at the Stuart Street entrance of the building. If any member of your party uses a wheelchair, please let our box office know so that we are best prepared to assist you.

 

Hearing aids

We provide assisted listening devices at the box office free of charge on a first-come-first-served basis. You will be asked to provide an ID to secure a device, which will be returned to you following the performance.

 

EBT Cardholder Tickets

All EBT cardholders can receive $5 tickets to any performance by using the first six digits of their EBT card number as the promotion code online, in person, or over the phone.

 

Senior Disounts

We’re happy to offer senior citizens $10 off tickets when purchased at the box office or in person. We are unable to offer retroactive discounts.

 

Student Rush Tickets

Rush tickets for students with a valid id from a degree-granting institution are $10, cash only, and are subject to availability. They will be sold starting 30 minutes before the performance begins.

 

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I take concessions into the theater?

Absolutely! Concessions are available for purchase at our concessions stand in the inner lobby. We ask that you open all items prior to the beginning of the performance or during intermission so as to minimize sounds and disruptions to everyone else. Please dispose of any trash following the performance.

I have a discount code – can I use it online?

Yes! If you have a special code for a discount, you will enter it on our online ticketing page AFTER you have added your tickets to your web shopping cart. On the “cart” page, simply scroll down until you see the “Coupon Code” field and enter your code and click “Apply Coupon.”

Can I take pictures of the performance?

The use of all cameras and recording devices, including cell phone cameras, is strictly prohibited.

Is it OK to check my phone in the theatre?

In consideration of the performers and your fellow guests, before the show begins please silence cell phones, digital watches, pagers, and anything else that might disturb the performance. Texting during the performance is prohibited.

Do you have an age minimum for ticket holders?

Children under the age of five are not permitted in the theatre. Each production is different and some may include language, themes, or actions that are inappropriate for younger audience members. We recommend contacting the box office for more information if you have questions or concerns.

I lost my tickets! What are my options?

Don’t worry, it happens to all of us! Simply contact the box office with the name the tickets were purchased under. We can reprint them and hold them for you at will call on the day of the performance.

What if I’m late to the show?

If you arrive after the performance has already begun, you will be seated at the discretion of house staff in available seats at an appropriate point in the performance. You will be permitted to move to your seat at intermission, if possible.

Do you have a coat room? Where can I store my things?

We have coat racks available free of charge in the inner lobby of the theater next to the concessions stand. Other items can be stored in the box office. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

What time do doors open?

The doors to the theater open approximately 30 minutes before the performance is scheduled to begin.

Is there an area we can smoke in the theatre?

Is the theatre wheelchair accessible?


Our entire space, including our lobbies, restrooms, and theatre are fully accessible. An elevator is located at the Stuart Street entrance of the building. If any member of your party uses a wheelchair, please let our box office know so that we are best prepared to assist you.

 

What should I wear?


We believe that theatre is for everyone, so we don’t don’t have a dress code. You can come dressed for a casual night of theatre or for a nice night out. We just want you to enjoy the performance.

 

Do you have a coat room? Where can I store my things?


We have coat racks available free of charge in the inner lobby of the theater near the concessions stand. There is also limited space for storage in the box office. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

 

What are my seats like?


Our theatre is one of the most intimate spaces in Boston, and with our stadium style seating you can see the stage from each seat. There isn’t a bad seat in the house! Click here for a virtual, 360° tour of our space!

When should I get to the theatre?


We recommend you arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the performance when the doors to the theatre open.

If you arrive late to the performance you will be seated at the discretion of house staff in available seats at an appropriate point in the performance so the performance can continue uninterrupted. You will be permitted to move to your seat at intermission, if possible. You may not be able to sit with your party.

Where’s the bathroom?


The bathroom is located in the hallway to the right in our second floor lobby. If you have trouble locating it once you’re here our box office and concessions staff can help direct you.

 

What if I need to use the bathroom during the performance?


If you leave during the performance as soon as you come back you will be seated at the discretion of house staff in available seats (which may not be your original seats) at an appropriate point in the performance so the performance can continue uninterrupted. You will be permitted to move to your seat at intermission, if possible.
