Dave Malloy (Music, Lyrics, Book, and Orchestrations for Preludes) is a composer, writer, performer, and orchestrator. He has written thirteen musicals, including Moby Dick, Octet, Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 (12 Tony nominations, including Best Musical, Score, Book, and Orchestrations), Ghost Quartet, Preludes, Little Bunny Foo Foo, Three Pianos, Black Wizard/Blue Wizard, Beowulf-A Thousand Years of Baggage, Beardo, Sandwich, and Clown Bible. He has won two Obie Awards, a Smithsonian Ingenuity Award, a Theater World Award, the Richard Rodgers Award, an ASCAP New Horizons Award, a Jonathan Larson Grant, and has been a MacDowell fellow and Composer-in Residence at Ars Nova and the Signature Theater.
